Whether you need lenses for reading or distance vision, precisely fitted single vision lenses are a must. ZEISS offers four levels of quality, ranging from traditional spherical up to individualised lenses. Modern ZEISS technology can produce extraordinarily flat and lightweight lenses, even for high prescriptions. Together with your optician, you can tailor your new lenses to meet your own personal needs.
ZEISS Single Vision Sph is a spherical lens with point-focal imagery. Peripheral blur can be minimised to provide high visual quality. Available in both plastic and glass, they can be used for both high and low prescriptions in the form of distance or reading lenses. Modern manufacturing methods make it possible to produce these exceptionally lightweight lenses. Plastic single vision lenses can reduce the weight of spectacles by up to 40 percent compared to glass lenses
Highly curved lenses - no, thank you! Thanks to their rotationally symmetrical, aspheric front surface, ZEISS Single Vision AS lenses are characterized by low curvature and very good imaging properties. They are particularly suitable for wearers with high prescriptions. Lenses can be produced that are up to 20 percent lighter and thinner, and all with considerably reduced curvature for attractive glasses.
Freeform technology is the magical word that makes these lenses so special – and that provides you with crystal-clear vision. The entire lens surface is optimised point-by-point to ensure you enjoy optimum vision. Forget about peripheral distortion – it's a thing of the past! Every ZEISS Single Vision Superb lens is designed and produced for each individual wearer and prescription, incorporating sphere, cylinder, axis, prism and prism base. The result: you receive an even more comfortable single vision design.
Is more individualization possible? Yes. Even more of the wearer's personal parameters are incorporated in ZEISS Single Vision Individual lenses. Your personal higher-order aberrations are also taken into account. This is achieved with wavefront technology which allows the lens surface to be optimised to provide you with superb visual quality. All parameters measured by the optician are incorporated in the production of the lens using freeform technology. ZEISS Single Vision Individual lenses guarantee outstanding wearer tolerance. There is simply no better way of adapting lenses perfectly to the needs of each individual wearer!
Ensure that your eyes are up to the challenge: leading-edge technologies for state-of-the-art progressive lenses
Progressive lenses are true optical masterpieces. They offer individualised support for your eyes from near to far and everything in-between. The lens design is of key importance. It must be exactly tailored to you and your visual habits. Did you know that the reading distance between our eyes and a smartphone is much shorter than when we read a book or a newspaper? All progressive lens designs from ZEISS take this into account. But ZEISS progressive lenses can do a lot more.
These days, you can let fashion trends inspire you when selecting your spectacle frames. Frame fashions change very quickly – there are constantly new shapes and sizes to choose from. But when it comes to progressive lenses, it's nice to stay with what you know. With Zeiss' unique Adaptation Control Technology and FrameFit®+ Technology, your progressive lenses can be inserted in your new frame in such a way that you don't need to reaccustom your eyes to new zones of vision. The result: outstanding wearer tolerance. And just what fashionable wearers have been waiting for!
posture are never exactly the same! The anatomy of our faces and the interplay of frame, lenses and face determines how we see with progressive lenses. A modern progressive lens featuring high-tech technology should take the shape of the wearer's face into account to ensure that he or she enjoys optimum 3D vision. ZEISS FaceFit Technology integrates precisely these parameters in the production of the lens.
The increasing complexity of our lifestyles these days is posing major challenges to our eyes – and this requires tailor-made solutions to help them perform at their best. Individualised progressive lenses must take into account not only your anatomy, but also your everyday activities. This is the only way of ensuring that you can benefit from good, natural vision in all situations. IndividualFit® and Luminance Design® Technologies make this all possible. Progressive lenses focus sharply on the needs of your eyes at work and in your leisure time.
On average, we look at our smartphones, tablets or TV screens for almost five hours every day. And we glance at our mobile phones as many as 80 times a day! And these figures are set to rise in the future. Small font sizes and the constant switching of our viewing focus from near to far objects demands the utmost from our eyes. From the age of 30 onwards, this can lead to digital eyestrain or, as the experts put it, the Computer Vision Syndrome. ZEISS Digital Lenses offer the perfect remedy by enabling fast, comfortable focusing thanks a specially optimised near zone – no matter where we look. These lenses are ideal not only for digital devices, but also for reading books and magazines.
ZEISS Digital Lenses are sharply focused on the use of digital devices such as e-readers or smartphones. Special optimisation of the near zone takes into account the typical movements of the eyes and shorter reading distance required by these devices. This design optimally supports the ciliary muscle, therefore making it easier for the wearer to focus their vision in the near and distance ranges. This may help to prevent symptoms of fatigue. The ideal glasses for all-day use – and not only for digital natives.
People usually notice the change when they're 35 or older: working at a computer screen and shifting their eyes – i.e. from the keyboard to the monitor or from the calendar to the telephone – is suddenly more stressful for their eyes. In order to see clearly at different distances, they often unconsciously assume an uncomfortable posture, e.g. by leaning forward or raising their head. Back and neck pains along with dry or teary eyes are just some of the possible consequences. ZEISS Office Lenses help prevent this type of visual stress: they are customised for your particular vision needs while on the job and are – unlike reading or progressive lenses – optimised for all required distances while working in front of a computer screen.
Ensure that you enjoy comfortable vision in the office – no matter where you look. ZEISS Office Lenses offer a large visual field for the near and intermediate zones and are adapted to your requirements on the job, right down to the very last centimetre. These lenses are optimised e.g. for the viewing distance between you and your computer screen, the distance to the customer or a co-worker or the perfect distance for reading, allowing your eyes to relax and ensuring a more suitable posture. You'll notice the positive effects even after work.
Ultraviolet (UV) radiation is always there. All year round, all day, whether it's winter or summer, in sunny conditions or even on cloudy days when UV exposure can reach 70-75% at ground level. UV radiation actually has several beneficial effects for us including vitamin D production via skin exposure. It also stimulates the production of melanin, your body's own protection against sunburn that causes a tanned complexion.
However, if your unprotected skin is exposed to UV radiation for a prolonged period, it can cause damage such as photo ageing, wrinkles, and in severe cases, skin cancer
The UVProtect Technology is moving beyond accepted standards to a higher level of UV protection, which enables clear ZEISS lenses to block harmful UV rays up to 400 nm. This is the same standard of UV protection premium sunglasses provide.
Are all sunglasses the same? Not at all. When do you wear your sunglasses the most? While shopping? While sitting at a café? Or maybe while taking a walk through the park? Or perhaps when you're playing sports? Or driving a car? The better your sunglasses meet your needs, the more comfortable they are to wear.
